Where all of this comes from.
Nagrik does not produce data. It collects the records Mumbai’s civic bodies already publish — tenders, ward boundaries, officers’ directories — and puts them on one map. Everything below is a public record. This page says exactly which one, and what to do when we get something wrong.
What we take, and from where

The 24 administrative ward boundaries, and BMC’s ward offices
BMC publishes the 24 administrative wards used for services and tenders, with ward office addresses and control-room numbers.
- Esri India Living Atlas
The 227 electoral ward (prabhag) boundaries
These 227 electoral wards elect councillors. They differ from the 24 administrative wards. Esri supplies the map; BMC publishes none.
- mynagarsevak.in
The 227 sitting councillors, and which ward each prabhag sits in
MyNagarSevak is a secondary source. Winning parties match the January 2026 gazette in all 226 checkable seats. Five disputed prabhag-to-ward matches remain unassigned.

423 named ward officers — who to call in each of the 24 wards
Officers transcribed from 24 BMC ward PDFs, each linked for verification. Six email typos are corrected with the original retained; one unrecoverable address is omitted.
- mahatenders.gov.in
MCGM, BEST, MMRDA and SRA tenders, and who won them
The state portal lists open tenders and publishes contract results. Nagrik retains records as they are collected.

Awarded contracts from 2024 and 2025 — about half of the records here
Historical awards from a third-party archive of the central portal. Each links to its official award page on eprocure.gov.in. This fixed set does not refresh.

The neighbourhood names Mumbai is searched by
Locality names locate places on the map. Places outside the published electoral boundaries have no ward match.
How current it is
- Tenders refresh nightly. Ward maps and contact directories are updated when they change.
- Awards and cancellations are collected separately with manual access to the portal.
- Historical awards from the archive form a fixed set. Other records carry the state portal status.
What we will not do
We never invent a record to fill a gap. Where an authority does not publish something — a councillor’s phone number, a ward’s zone — Nagrik shows nothing rather than a plausible guess. A blank means the government has not published it, not that we forgot to look.
Officials’ contact details
Nagrik republishes the names, designations, office phone numbers and official email addresses that these bodies already publish in their own public directories. These are official points of contact for public duties, reproduced so a resident can reach the person accountable for their ward. No personal or private contact information is collected, inferred, or shown. If you are named here and want your entry corrected or removed, write to us.
